Frank Kelly had been convicted of the murder of Katherine (or “Catherine”) Dunn in Canarsie, Brooklyn, 1146 E 46th Street, the previous October, and sentenced to the electric chair. The February 17th Daily News reported that his appeal of the sentence, based on his claim that his experiences in the US Army befuddled him, would take a few more months.

Kelly would lose his appeal. He was executed on August 23rd, 1920.
