“Mow do mnie jeszcze” (“Talk to Me More”)

June is “
Immigrant Heritage Month.” Throughout the month we will be posting materials relating to immigration and immigrant cultures of NYC.

One hundred years ago today … “Mow do mnie jeszcze” (“Talk to Me More”), a Polish love song, was recorded at Edison Studios.

Leon Wyszatycki sang lead vocals on the composition by Napoleon Rutkowski. The lyrics had been adapted from a 1894 poem by Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer.

Note: we reported on the Polish newspaper Nowy Świat and the Polish community of NYC about one year ago.

Find “Mow do mnie jeszcze” at Discography of American Historical Recordings.
